Our mission is to welcome refugees who are living in the Lehigh Valley; extending hospitality and friendship as we build community together.
Our Commitment
The Refugee Community Center functions as a safe space for new refugee and asylum neighbors to find hospitality, connection and friendship. Our work focuses on adult ESOL education, intentional children’s programming, advocacy and hospitality.
Key elements of our services for refugees:
English Language Classes (ESOL)
Learning to communicate in English is one of the most critical parts of a refugee resettling well.
Citizenship Classes
Learning our laws and customs and what it is to be a good citizen, and help to pass the naturalization test.
Intentional Kids Programming
Helping little ones prepare for school by familiarizing them with the norms of an American classroom and helping them practice English in a safe environment while their parents focus on ESOL.
Social & Cultural Events
Regular events and activities with community partners to help our new neighbors learn about all the resources available to them in the Lehigh Valley while making friends and building community.
All of our classes and events are offered free of charge

Times are much harder for Refugees. You can make a difference, right now.
Your tax free donation will go towards integrating refugees into our local community. Refugees by definition are resourceful people just in having made it this far. Studies show us they are hard workers who need a minimum of assitance to become employed and contributing members of our community.
Please consider being generous in your contributions to the Refugee Community Center. You can set up a tax-deductible recurring gift through our online giving portal (at the link below). For example, a donation of $50 monthly sponsors one refugee for ESOL for a year.
